Foo Fighters front man Dave Grohl has been called the ‘greatest rockstar ever’ after he spent Super Bowl Sunday helping the homeless at a barbecue in Los Angeles.

The rocker and his friends spent 28 hours prepping, smoking and serving up 100 pork butts with the hope of feeding up to 1,800 homeless at The Woodlands Family Shelter in Woodland Hills, California.

The winter feast is a regular commitment for the rocker. Last year he spent 16 hours manning the event, for which he reportedly covered the expenses, but he wanted to go one better for 2024.

Speaking on the Hope the Mission YouTube channel, he said: ‘We’re always trying to feed more [people], so we came up with a plan that we were going to stuff 100 pork butts into both of our smokers – there was not one more inch of room.’

Dave added they usually manage to feed 300 to 400 people, making this year’s feat a mightily impressive one.
